About this game
What Upgrade Forge Simulator is about
Upgrade Forge Simulator is a small browser tool that models the kind of upgrade gamble that powers most RPG progression systems. Choose a target upgrade level, set how much bonus chance you currently have, then click Simulate attempt to roll against the success rate.
The simulator does not save state to a server and does not consume any real currency. The whole point is to let you run dozens of attempts in seconds so you understand the variance of an upgrade target before you actually commit materials in-game.

How to play
Step-by-step rules
Pick a target level
Move the Target level slider between +1 and +12. The success chance drops as the target rises.
Set bonus chance
Adjust the bonus chance slider to model event boosts, premium scrolls, or other modifiers. Bonus chance stacks on top of the base rate.
Simulate attempts
Press Simulate attempt to roll. The success counter, observed rate, and recent attempt log all update as you go.
Reset and compare
Press Reset to clear the counters before testing a new bonus value or a different target level.
Tips
How to actually get better at Forge Simulator
Run at least 30 attempts before judging the rate
Five attempts can look very lucky or very unlucky. Around 30 attempts the observed rate usually starts to look like the underlying chance.
Compare two scenarios side by side
Try one setup with the default bonus, then run the same target with a 15-20% boost. The difference in expected attempts is exactly what an event week buys you.
Use expected attempts as a budget
The expected attempts value is the average number of attempts to a single success. Multiply by your real scroll cost and add a 50% safety buffer for a realistic upgrade budget.
Why this game is here
The link to Catch the King and Metin2 events
Metin2 weapons and armor scale through an upgrade system with falling success rates. The Forge Simulator gives you a no-cost place to feel the curve so the first time you fail at +7 you are not surprised.
FAQ
Common questions about Upgrade Forge Simulator
Are these rates the official Metin2 rates?
They are realistic ranges based on community reports, not server-specific official rates. Adjust the bonus slider to match your actual situation.
Why does my observed rate not match the chance?
Variance. With small attempt counts, observed rate can swing far above or below the underlying chance. The more attempts you run, the closer they converge.
Does the simulator handle item destruction on fail?
Not yet. It only tracks attempts and successes. Add an estimated replacement cost on top of the simulator output if your server destroys items on failure.
